The eligibility requirements for the Kennedy Space Center Internship Program (KIP) for college undergraduate students are the following:

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Provide an outline of all work done on the Master’s and/or Doctural level including thesis
  • Provide a resume showing all relevant work, classroom and extracurricular experience, with a summary of experience gained from individual class work in applicant’s major.
  • Provide three letters of recommendation (It is highly encouraged that letters come from people who directly supervised a work, academic or extracurricular experience)
  • Pass a background investigation
  • Be responsible for their own transportation and housing while at the Kennedy Space Center

There are three different periods of internships coinciding with the academic year, applicants must indicate which one of these semesters they are applying for.  These semesters are:  Fall, Spring and Summer.  Acceptance is based on all factors listed above and the number of internships available.  Faculty applicants will also receive a stipend of $1,400.00 a week upon acceptance. This is a stipend for the period of the internship only.
