HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS 

The eligibility requirements for the Kennedy Space Center Internship Program (KIP) for high school students are the following: 

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Students must be at least 16 years of age when entering the internship period
  • Have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Provide official transcripts from any and all high schools attended
  • Provide a resume showing all relevant work, classroom and extracurricular experience
  • Provide a minimum of one letter of recommendation (It is highly encouraged that letters come from people who directly supervised a work, academic or extracurricular experience)
  • Pass a background investigation
  • Be responsible for their own transportation to and from the Kennedy Space Center
  • Must live within a 50 mile radius of Kennedy Space Center Gates

High School students should be aware that they can only participate in this program during Summer semester only.  Acceptance is based on all factors listed above and the number of internships available. High School students will also receive a stipend of $300.00 a week.  This stipend is for the period of the internship only.
